Thought For The Week

Hebrews 6: 19-20

19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Coronavirus, social distancing, self-isolation, and lockdown; these are words which we are all familiar with; words that are associated with the current pandemic and serve as a constant reminder that we are not in control of anything.

Furthermore, there are so many conspiracy theories floating around regarding COVID-19, causing so much unnecessary confusion to an already fearful and panic-stricken world - a world that offers us no real security.

Therefore, we need to be mindful and careful as to what we choose to listen to and follow.

Despite this current crisis, the Word of God assures us that “ …. the Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all”  (Psalm 103:19).

May we continue to let the Word of God direct us, especially in the light of what is happening in our world today.

Presently we are living in a world where everything appears unstable and uncertain. So what do we do?  What hope is there? And who do we run to?  We need something that we can hold onto.  We need something that we can trust in.  We need an anchor for our souls - our hope in the Lord Jesus Christ is that anchor.

Be encouraged that despite our current circumstances, God rules, is in control and is still working out His purpose for this world.

LORD, may our hope in you continue to be an anchor for our soul.  May we be encouraged, and have confidence in Your promises.  Help us to trust You, for we know that You will guide us and keep us through all the challenges and difficulties of this life. We thank You for Your continual presence with us.

Have a blessed day.
