Reflective Thoughts
Psalm 55: 2, 6
Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me…. I said,
“Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.”
Reflection
David was troubled and restless; moaning and complaining about his predicament, we can see that he had very little peace and wanted to escape his situation. David needed God’s help. However at this point, he felt distant from God and pleaded with God not to ignore him. Are you facing a similar situation today? Do you feel distant from God? At times we may feel as though God is distant from us, yet as we draw ever closer to Him in faith, His Spirit convicts us that we can face anything with a strong sense of His presence with us.
Charles Spurgeon states: “What a comfort that we may be thus familiar with our God! We may not complain of Him, but we may complain to Him.” Be encouraged -
May you be at peace in Him, and your soul find rest in Him today.
